Itohan Eigbe is the director of curriculum at Starfield Montossori School, lagos which she started in September of 2011. She has over eleven years experience teaching in the classroom both in the united states of America and Nigeria. She has BA in accounting from the university of wales, Cardiff and earned her AMI 3-6 Diploma from the Montessori teacher training centre of Northern Califonia.
Her passion for Montessori method of Education sterns from the independence it cultivates in children, the nature of the classroom, and the personal belief that all aspects of the Montessori philosophy makes learning fun and enjoyable for students as well as teachers.
She greatly aspires to see children grow into adults who are independent thinkers, responsible global citizens and compassionate innovators. Believing the Montessori Method is a great way to achieve this, she participated in establishing the foundation for Montessori Education in Nigeria (FMEN).The foundation aims to promote the Montessori agenda and achieve national acceptance of the Montessori Method of education in Nigeria. She is a lover of impressionist art, and avid reader.
